We have an exciting new opportunity for a Field Network Engineer linked to our Stratford upon Avon office, joining our friendly technical team & working under the direction of our Network Team Lead on a day-to-day basis, handling incidents and service requests.
Location: Midlands Field based (Stratford upon Avon office)
Salary: £26,000 – £36,000 p.a. DOE (inclusive of £6,300 car allowance)

The role will undertake assignments across projects and/or service functions as required, with particular responsibility for ensuring that both the passive and active network infrastructure is delivered to Chi Technology’s specifications and required timeframes and working with colleagues to ensure services are integrated successfully. Experience of Networking and Wi-Fi are essential to this role and experience of supporting Cisco, Aruba (HP), Ruckus and Fortinet network equipment, with basic VOIP knowledge would be desirable. You will be required to work in a large number of different environments including but not limited to offices, factory’s, live Comms Rooms and occasionally Construction sites.
You will work within a team that is focused on incident and break-fix resolution. Day-to-day direction over tasks and priorities will come through our ticketing system and you will be responsible for resolving incidents and fulfilling service requests across our LAN and Data Centre networks. You will also be working with the wider network and telecoms team to develop and continuously improve our services.
Specific Role Requirements
As this will be a customer facing role, good interpersonal skills are key and the successful candidate will need to be motivated and comfortable to work on their own initiative as well as being part of a close-knit team. You will be professional and diligent. It is imperative that you have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude’ and can work well as part of a hybrid delivery-focused team.
The person
The successful candidate will possess some of the following experience:
- Network (LAN) troubleshooting experience either with Cisco, Aruba (HP) technology.
- Experience of working in a service support function, dealing with customers to resolve issues and answer their questions
- Ability to quickly assess outages and identify the likely root cause
- Experience of network security across all key vendors
- Analytical with strong attention to detail – able to identify and articulate issues to a non-technical audience
- Ability to work to tight timescales without sacrificing quality
- Ability to work unsociable hours at times.
As a field-based role this will naturally require travel to customer sites, with a link to the Stratford upon Avon office when not travelling.

- Wireless and / or Network security
- Experience in a similar role around LAN / WAN equipment
- Advanced Networking Skills
- Layer 2/3 routing and switching
- Strong Cisco skills
Field Network Engineer Desirables:
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP
- Fortinet NSE4
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Server Architecture / Virtualisation
